HOFH Partner Spotlight: Lindner Center of HOPE

Published by: HOFH

Lindner Center of HOPE, located in Mason, Ohio, is a comprehensive, not-for-profit mental health center of excellence offering a complete campus of care based on a foundation of empathy and excellence. Recognized nationally, the center is renowned for its patient-centered, scientifically advanced care for individuals suffering from a wide array of mental illnesses.

In its commitment to excellence, Lindner Center of HOPE strives to provide comprehensive diagnostic testing and analysis for its residential patients that are highly in-depth and involves a full multidisciplinary team. The highly qualified and diverse team works collaboratively to understand and treat each patient. The analysis goes a step further to include the most current, rigorous, scientific evidence in diagnosis and in the effectiveness of treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Adding to its commitment to helping patients return to productive lives, is a unique service that offers patients an intermediate option in between hospitalization and standard residential care. The transitional program is a distinctive measure that Lindner Center of HOPE takes with the understanding that not every individual is automatically ready to transition from hospital treatment to a typical residential setting. The center has found it to be an imperative step that is critical to the success of individuals who need additional support.

Each of Lindner Center of HOPE’s thorough programs is designed around not only providing excellence but also empathy.  In addition to residential treatment, the center also provides office-based and outpatient services for new and existing patients.

“We are mindful and empathetic of understanding where the individual is coming from and in meeting them where they are. Our ultimate goal is to get a person back to feeling like themselves,” says Paul Crosby, MD, President and CEO at the Lindner Center of HOPE. “It’s really important to us that we provide resources to help individuals progress in a timeframe that works for them and their loved ones who are supporting them.”

A Founding Member of Hall of Fame Health (HOFH), Lindner Center of HOPE also seeks to reduce the stigma around mental health through conversation and through helping dispel the myths of what it means to get care.

“One of our goals is to share stories and solutions about what it means to seek help,” adds Dr. Crosby. “Seeking mental health care can be scary, but we want people to know that treatment is almost always safe, well-tolerated, and effective. There is little to lose and so much to gain by taking that first step.”

Among its programs, Lindner Center for HOPE offers a 14-day or 21-day residential program for HOFBH that includes a complete assessment and, if needed, brief stabilization. The program covers a broad range of health markers including nutrition, physical, and even an optional spiritual component. At the end of the individual’s stay, they will be connected to the next steps in their treatment.

“We absolutely love what the Hall of Fame Health is doing to break down the barriers in connecting people with resources. There’s nothing more terrifying than experiencing a mental health issue and then feeling lost,” says Jennifer Pierson, Senior Director, Marketing and Outreach at Lindner Center for HOPE.

“A feeling of being lost can also plague athletes struggling with the transition into life after sports. We want to meet them where they are to help them move to where they want to be,” continues Dr. Crosby.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Lindner Center for HOPE as a Founding Member of Hall of Fame Behavioral Health,” says Ryan Cain Executive Vice President of HOFH. “Their research-based comprehensive and empathetic mental health solutions serve people at the individual level, which is aligned with our goals.”
